Ari's light brown eyes widened in wonderment. Not often would he let himself even dream of food so good, because he knew he could not have it. At least not until he was bought. He made a face when when Braise mentioned meat-disgusting stuff. The other things sounded wonderful, though. Fruit and bread. He smiled. "The bread," he murmured, scooting closer to his friend, "how does it look?" He had never seen any bread that was not old and had at least a little mold growing on it before.

Ari kept scooting closer and the were practically pressed together anyways so....Braise lifted and arm and dropped it around the angels shoulders. "Well, it comes in a full loaf of sliced pieces. Their're usually white and fluffy-soft even. The outside is dark brown crust and they smell so good. That's what i'll have to get you when we get outside. Your first meal can be bread exclusively," he grinned and ruffled the boys hair a bit.

The angel giggled quietly when Braise ruffled his hair. "Mm, I would like that!" Ari smiled. "It sounds so good. None of the bread here is ever fluffy-soft," he said softly. "I would almost think you were lying if I didn't know you are so nice." He rested his head on his friend's shoulder, cuddling closer to him. It felt so nice being this close to some one. Maybe they were going to be closer than friends? He didn't think he would mind one bit, and he hoped Braise would not either. And the wolf boy promised they would never be apart, so it would work out! He smiled some more. "The fruit must be just as good," he commented.

"It is," Braise looked down at Ari, feeling the softness of the boys wings on the back of his forearms as he held him close. Despite the dankness of the room, he could smell the springtime scent of Ari. It was faintly earthy, smelled like grass and sunshine. "It's sweet and juicy and makes your mouth water just looking at it." He closed his eyes, trying to remember, trying to conjure up images of before he had been stolen out of his den. He missed his mother and father, missed the strong arms that had held him at night, telling him stories as he settled down with his sisters and brothers. "I really miss it," he sighed at last. "Ari....if I....if I figure out a way to get out of here, or if someone comes to get one of us, promise me we'll stick together." He had a soft spot for the other, and he knew, in time, it'd grow into something deeper, more meaningful. It was already there. He just didn't want to lose something he had just newly found.

Ari wrapped his arms around Braise in a light hug. "Of course. I promise, Braise," he said softly. He smiled happily. "We will always be together. You're stuck with me now," he winked playfully. The angel sat back then, but was still resting against his friend comfortably.
((Too short >.<))

Braise chuckled. "So I am." He looked up at the footsteps and the noisy creak of the door opening yet again. This time it was a guard and Braise made to get up, thinking they were going outside but a woman stepped out from behind the guard. Braise growled lowly and curled himself, trying to hide his little angel from view. "I need someon that's going to help out in the kitchen....do you possibly think it's going to help," she motioned to the wolf boy. The guard scratched his head before moving forward.
"There's another here ma'am." He tugged Braise away. The wolf in him reacted immediately and he snapped at the hands, tried to struggle away to protect Ari. The woman walked forward, ignoring him and studied the child on the floor.
"My....he is a doll. Not too thin, either. You must feed them well in here. Such darling wings that'll bring attention to my catering service why.....I think you just might have a deal here..." Ice passed through Braise and he tried harder to scramble away. The guard bent his arms back and threw him to the ground, holding him there. "What's with that one? Does he have...a sickness or something? Maybe I should get my little pet some shots, you think?" He hated the way they talked. As if Ari and he were something to be toyed with. They were people too!
((Time to get them out XDDD))

Ari's eyes widened as he listened to the woman and the guard talk. His eyes landed on Braise, who was struggling to get away from the guard but not succeeding. When the lady mentioned who 'darling' his wings were, the angel did his best to hide them. He didn't want the woman to like them! What was he going to do? There was no way he could act as feirce as Braise... he was way too scared.
The guard shrugged at the woman's question, busy with keeping the wolf anthro from attacking her. Ari scooted away from the buyer. He found himself glaring at her a little. Braise didn't have a sickness! It didn't take a genious to realize they were friends, did it? So it made perfect sense that he would want to protect him.
"N-no," he said softly, not even realizing it at first. He didn't know what he was saying no to. Maybe it was that he was going to get shots, or that the woman accused Braise of a sickness, or maybe it was that she was going to buy him and split them up. He thought for a moment before looking up at the woman uncertainly. "He's...my friend," he started before he was even sure what he was going to say. "I know he has no... sickness. Braise is scared for me. He is a fast learner!" he said, doing his best to look cute while he was scared out of his mind. "If you... buy both of us your...," he trailed off, trying to remember the word, "...catering service will get a lot of attention."

The woman seemed to think for a moment, tilting her head, looking between them. "Well......you say he's a fast learner....and he does look like he would be able to lift heavy things....." Braise was surprised the woman didn't hit Ari for even speaking. Any other buyer might've done it. And then he would've had to hurt someone. As it was, the guard was punishing him for it, pressing down on his back with all of his weight. "What say you, dog-child. Are you willing to stick with your little friend here?" Braise clenched his teeth, trying hard to breath and not snap at her.
He was not a dog! "I'm a wolf and if it's something I can stick with Ari through, then i'll do it." The guard pinched him.
"Very well! Give me them both, i'll see where i can put him to work at." She motioned the guard up. He kicked Braise as the woman turned her back and scurried to the door, opening it for all of them. Braise pushed himself to his feet and hobbled to Ari.
"Thank you," he smiled as best he could, wrapping an arm around the little angel to both protect him and steady himself.

Ari wrapped his arms around Braise after a shocked pause. It worked! The woman was going to buy both of them, and they were going to get out of In-Between! He grinned at his friend excitedly. "We're getting out of here," he murmured. "Together."
The angel stood up with the wolf boy, keeping one arm around him to help him walk. "Are you okay?" he asked softly while they followed the woman and the the guard.

"Yes," he grinned at the little angels enthusiasm and lead him out of the room, a arm around him the entire time. "I'm fine, don't worry. He just...made my ribs hurt a little again." They hit the outside in a dazzling of sunchine and fresh air. Braise took it all in, his tail wagging unbeknownst to him. The woman quickly signed them out and then lead them to a car.
"In the backseat," she ordered, slipping into the drivers seat.

Ari stared at the weird... thing the woman... their new master, he corrected himself... had just walked into. He stopped, staring at it uncertainly and leaned against Braise. "What is that?" he asked quietly, pointing at the silver car. He had never seen one before. When the woman started it up he jumped and hid behind his friend fearfully. "It made a noise!" he muttered.

Braise couldn't supress a chuckle. He gently took Ari's arm and pulled the angel to stand beside him again. "It's a car," he exaplined. "A mode of transportation. It makes alot of noises and stuff. Don't be afraid...i'll protect you." He moved to open the door when the woman looked at them in the side mirror, glaring. He ushered Ari inside and then slid in behind him, barely getting the door closed before the lady was driving. He snuggled into the soft seat and took Ari's hand, squeezing it. "It's going to take us to where our master lives."

Ari sat as close to Braise as he could get. The seat was very soft. Softer than anything he had ever sat on before. It was really nice. He smiled and rested his head on his friend's shoulder. "It's soft," he muttered. "I like... the car. Even if we're going...fast! Braise look! Trees! Lots and lots of trees!" he said excitedly. He moved to the window, still clutching onto the wolf boy's hand. "Wow...."

He smiled and scooted up behind Ari, looking over his shoulder to watch the trees pass. "Wait until you see rolling hills and fields. It's wonderful onthe outside world Ari, beautiful....you can run in the open spaces and play, stay in the sun for as long as you like." He couldn't wait to show the boy everything. When they weren't working, he was going to make it his personal mission to find a new thing everyday to show his....more-than-friend.

The angel grinned, watching as the outside world past them by. "It sounds wounderful," he said softly. Feilds, hills, trees.... They could go outside for as long as they wanted? There wouldn't be any cruel guards pushing them around, watching their every move? Amazing. It was almost too good to be true.
