The sky was always so pretty. He always missed it when he was stuck in that cell or whatever cell the guards decided to stick him in. Ari scooted closer to Braise. If they ever moved him again, he hoped the wolf boy would be with him. Friendship in this place was rare, and when you found it... you just wanted to grab a hold of it and never let go. He knew if they were ever seperated he would miss his friend greatly, even though they only knew eachother for a short time.
"Have you ever been... away from here?" he asked softly. He had never been anywhere but In-Between. At least, not that he could remember.

Braise cocked his head and thought for a second. He could feel Ari's warmth at his side and smiled slightly. "I don't.....I can't quite remember, but I think I was." He paused momentarily to gather thoughts and little snatches of dreams that he could remember. "Sometimes, if I really think hard, I can sort of remember a cabin and....lots of forest...I dunno." He shrugged, resting his chin atop his folded arms. What he wanted more than ever was to get out of here...this prison. But now, he had someone else to worry about. If he ever got the chance to escape, Ari was coming with him. He didn't know where they'd go from this moment, but he was never going to leave the boy behind.

Ari nodded slightly. "I don't remember anywhere but... here," he said softly. He bit his lip thoughtfully. Forest he knew meant a lot of trees all together. But... cabin...? The word seemed familiar, but he could not remember where he had heard it. He hated when he could not figure out a word. "Braise...? What is... um...," he muttered, blushing lightly, very embarrassed.. "What is a... cabin?" he asked.

Braise cocked his head at the angel, smiling at his blush. It only served to make him cuter. "Um...well it's like a small house. It's made out of logs from the forest and only has one room sperated into several smaller things. Nice and cozy.." He didn't like that the angel hadn't been anywhere else. A life that only contained the In Between was harsh. He wanted to get them out of here and show Ari the world.

Ari nodded, his blush starting to go away. "Oh...," he said softly. "That sounds nice," he smiled. He stretched his wings out for a moment then relaxed them again. The angel started to say something, but closed his mouth when he realized some of the guards were staring at them.

"It is.....maybe when...if we ever get out of here..." He was caught by the stretching of wings. They were beautiful and he coulnd't help but stare as the feathers fanned out and relaxed, falling behing Ari's back once again, half shielding the small boy. His mouth opened then closed again and Braise covertly turned his gaze to the guards. There were three of them all watching, keeping an eye on the pets in the yard. Had they spent their twenty minutes? Either way he didn't like the staring and moved closer to Ari, frowning when the guards visibly smirked.

The guards were starting to make him uneasy. They were smirking; and that was never a good thing. Ari was glad for the extra comfort Braise gave him from scooting closer. After a moment the guards looked away, watching the other pets now. "What were you saying before?" he asked quietly as he looked up at the other boy.

"I was saying," he turned his attention back to the angel by his side, smiling just a bit. "That if we ever get out of here, I'd like to show you. I'd like to show you alot of things Ari. You don't deserve to be in here." His golden eyes watched the small boy in the failing light, wondering when they'd have to go back to the dingy room, letting his eyes memorize everything so he'd know just how cute Ari really was.

"I don't think... anyone does," the boy said softly. A light blush sprinkled his cheeks again when he felt Braise's intense stare. He smiled though. Braise wanted to show him things? No one had ever wanted to do anything so nice for him before. "Do you think we will be here for the rest of our lives if... if no one takes us away?" he asked softly.
Before the wolf boy could answer, though, the guards starting yelling that their time was up. 'It went by so quickly,' he thought sadly. He stood up slowly, waiting for Braise to do the same. "Move faster," a guard sneered at them, watching them like a hawk. Ari kept his eyes averted to the ground. It was always best not look them in the eye, he had found out.

Braise pushed himself to his feet, wincing just a bit as pain stabbed through his ribs and followed after the angel, keeping close. He did exactly the opposite of Ari. He glared defiantly, his own fanged sneer on his face, just daring the guard to touch him. They had been glaring and watching the pair the whole entire time-well most of the time in the yard. The wolf halfbreed didn't understand why they found them so interesting but he intended to give them something else to focus on if they didn't stop. "Keep moving filth!" The guard he had provoked shoved him, sending him careening into the tiny body before him.
Braise caught his balance at the last second, arms automatically stilling Ari and getting him steady before letting small feet touch the ground again. "Just ignore them," he whispered in his ear before stepping back. It wasn't as if they were specimen or anything! Growling lowly the hybrid protected Ari all the way back to their cell, hissing at the guard that closed the door. He was acting quite violent but a wolf was normally feisty about their territory and seeing as how Ari was his very vulnerable room mate, he was his territory. "We will be getting out of here," he promised, making it loud enough for the guards to hear outside.

Ari bit his lip lightly, watching the door as the guard closed it. He looked up at Braise when spoke, surprised at how daring he was. The wolf boy was so brave.... Ari knew he could never be like that. He was much more comfortable with just being quiet and doing whatever the guards ordered him to do and taking their abuse. The guards' footsteps could be heard fading off on the other side of the door.
The angel walked over to the wall and sat down next to it. He thought back to out in the hall for a moment. It had felt... really nice, having Braise's hands on him, saving him from falling. No one ever wanted to help him... or protect him. The boy smiled up at Braise, though it was probably hard to see in the dim light. He patted the spot next to him to let the other pet know he could sit next to him. "...I can't wait 'til we do," he said softly.

"Neither can I," he came and sat down beside him, relaxing back against the wall with a sigh. "I'd like to see you smile more and if that's what it take...." He watched him, his own little smile on his face. Brushing back his sandy hair he leaned his head on the wall, eyes still quite focused on Ari. It was harder to see in the dark but he could make out enough detail on the boys face to see the stretch of his beautiful smile.
((I'm sorry, me and my mom have to take my little brother to the hospital so it's going to be awhile before i'm able to reply again!! ^w^;;;;Ne, i've been meaning to ask too....are you Cleon on Zerca? If so, i'm Pheonix! ^w^))

Ari chuckled slightly, a first for awhile. It seemed Braise was good at making him feel happy. "You.... You're very nice, Braise," he said. He rubbed his face shyly, hating the feeling of dirt on his face. Once in awhile he was allowed to clean up... but not enough for his liking.
((Yeah, that's me!! ^^;; I know, it's been awhile since I've posted for Cleon, and I feel really bad. I've just been having bad writer's block for a lot of my threads. I think that's what I get for having too many >.< I hope your brother's ok!))

"Am I? Only to you little Ari." He grinned, sighed again and tried in vain to get comfortable. There was no way to do it. The guards didn't give them beds and expected them to curl like worthless beings on the floor. The wolf boy shrugged down until just his shoulders and head was resting on the wall, eyes closed even though he wasn't tired. ((Haha, that's alright. I know what you mean^w^;; I have tons too, so go ahead and take your time. I'm pretty patient. i just missed posting with my little flame haired uke^w^;;; )

The floor was so cold. He had gotten, well, accustomed to it. It was not something he particularly liked, who would? But there was nothing he could do about it, so he did not complain. When Ari saw Braise vaguely in the dark as he slipped down the wall, making himself as comfortable as one could against a cold, hard wall.
The angel always found it more comfortable to just curl up on the ground. Even if it was dirty and cold. At least he had his wings to help make him warmer, and just feel safer. But now he had Braise, too. The small boy curled up on his side and scooted close to his new friend... but not too close in case the anthro didn't want him that close. "Are you sleepy?" he asked quietly as he got comfortable. He allowed one of his wings to slowly go over Braise's legs, a little more hesitant than before since he was awake this time.
((Awww.... I miss that thread too. I've been trying to think up ideas for Cleon's family. Plus, I've been a little busy and stuff. >.< I know, not an excuse. Buut... I'll post soon!! Promise ^_~))
