RPing: Role-Playing. When role-playing on a message board, the player controls a character, and works them into the plot along with other characters controlled by other players. That's what we're doing here.
First things first. You create a character using the Character Bio Sheet we have provided for you. Please remember to fill in everything that doesn't say 'optional' within the parenthesis. Otherwise, you can leave it blank if you want.
Post that Bio under a new thread within the 'Character' category with your character's name on it. Wait for one of us in Admin to approve of it before doing anything. If someone has a post you want to work with, you may either send them a PM (personal message) or leave a message on their thread, but that's basically all you can do until we approve of your character.
With that done, the next thing you do is start a post of your own or start on another thread with someone else.
Starting a thread: After choosing what category yours is going to be under, clink 'new thread'. Type the title of your thread under 'subject' and write (open thread) next to the title. That way, people will know that you are looking for a partner(s) to RP with.
If you already have someone in mind to do the thread with, write their character's name with your own or just don't write open thread next to the title.
How to RP is rather simple. It's basically just writing a story that several people work on from different parts. You act as your character, but typically you write third person. A post can be up to several sentences to several paragraphs. We ask that you make posts more then one word as it does get annoying/frustrating otherwise.
See? Again, easy. That can be one whole post or you can make it longer. It's up to you.
You might have noticed that I added some actions for my companion' into what would be my post. Little things like that are acceptable, but do NOT make someone else's character do something that is something more major or OoC (out-of-character) for them.
That's so not cool. That is called god-moding or power-playing and is not allowed. If that does occur, we'll have to ban you. This is for fun, people.
Adding to someone's thread: This is pretty easy. All you have to do is go to someone's thread and click the 'reply' button. Then type up your post and use your character to react with the other person's.
...That's it. Told you it was easy.
Now then: You know all the rules, you know how to get started, you know how to RP...What's holding you back now? Go have fun!!!
