Jere sat at his computer, typing away. His next column had to be in by the next day and he hadn't even done the final draft yet! After a half-hour of writing, Jerre finished his rough draft and decided to take a break so he could edit it with "fresh eyes" as his old teacher had told him. He stood from his chair and stretched, wincing when he felt his back pop and crack a bit. He yawned and checked his watch.
"Holy crap! It's only 7:45?" he yelled. He knew no one else in his apartment complex could hear him; he yelled at himself all the time when he was surprised and no one ever said anything about it... and boy where his neighbors nosey! He pouted pathetically as he walked out of his guest-room-gone-office. "I feel like I've been sitting there for days, but it was just a few hours!"
He went to his entryway and slipped on his shoes and a jacket before heading down the stairs and outside. He didn't feel like cooking anything right now and felt he should be celebrating the fact that he finally finished a large portion of the column.
Jerre traveled quietly down the sidewalk, shifting through all the people that were walking too slowly for him. Finally, though, he reached his favorite coffee shop, where he went all the time to eat- even though he didn't drink coffee- and took a seat. He couldn't wait to get everything done so he could have another week of doing nothing until the very last minute.

Jozo walked down a busy street in Kyroshin happily, though to anyone passing by the daemon would look bored. His long black coat bellowed behind him and some people tried to avoid him. The male supposed it was just his appearance, his all black clothes and such. He brushed long dark purple bangs out of his eyes, only to have them go back in his face.
His dad had sent him to Kyroshin to fill an order for new equipment for their farm. The young man was happy for the opportunity to get away from the plains, and his parents knew he would be. It was around eight at night, and he had already finished with the farm business. His mom had told him to stay the night at a hotel, but it was too early for him to turn in.
There was a coffee shop up ahead that looked nice. A nice warm cup of coffee sounded good about now. He walked into the building silently. It wasn't that busy, which he was glad for. For all the complaining he did about living in the middle of nowhere, he still didn't like big crowds that much. He ordered a small cup of coffee then looked around for a place to sit. The man found an empty table next to another guy sitting alone.
He sipped the coffee slowly, and made a face. The girl hadn't put enough sugar in it. The daemon sighed quietly. There was none at his table. He looked across at the brunnette with glasses before standing up a moment later. "Excuse me, could I borrow your sugar?" he asked politely.

Jerre was sitting quietly, staring off into space as he came up with ideas for the book he was writing. He every once in awhile took a sip of his tea, but ignored everything else around him. He jumped when someone talked to him and looked up to see a man that looked roughly his age with dark hair. He smiled nervously up at him. "Eh... I'm sorry, what did you say?" he asked with embarressment. He'd been so startled by the fact that someone was talking to him that he missed what the other had said.

Jozo chuckled softly. It appeared the other man had been in deep thought. His reaction was kind of cute. The daemon smiled slightly. "I was wondering if I could borrow your sugar?" he repeated. He shook his head after, trying to get his bangs out of his face so he could see the brunette better.

Jeremiah blushed and nodded. "Oh! Right! Of course!" he exclaimed, grabbing the sugar from off his table and handing it to the other man. "Here you go."

"Thank you," the man said, taking the sugar shaker. Their fingers brushed for no more than a second, but Jozo was still surprised to feel a shiver go down his spine. He smiled lightly before going back to his own table. He sprinkled enough sugar into his coffee, and after the taste test decided it was good. Jozo stood up again to give the man back his sugar. "Your sugar," he said softly, holding the glass shaker in front of the man's face- but not too close.

Jerre glanced up at the other man when he returned and smiled lightly, taking the sugar from him. "Thanks," he mumbled, though he didn't really know why he said that- it wasn't actually his sugar, it was the coffee shop's. "Hey... Since we're both by ourselves... Would you like to join?" he asked hesitantly. He was never good at meeting new people, but his mother's last letter had encouraged him to try and make some friends.

Jozo tilted his head slightly. Could the guy be any cuter? And those glasses! They just finished it off. Why was he checking out some stranger? That's what happens when live in the middle of nowhere. You look at everyone that isn't family he thought to himself. It did not bother him, though.
"Why not?" he said lightly. He grabbed his coffee before sitting down across from the cute brunette. "My name is Jozo, by the way," he said after a moment of comfortable silence.

Jerre smiled slightly and waved slightly. "My name's Jeremiah... But call me Jerre, it's much less rediculous," he said shyly. He blushed lightly and took a sip of his drink to cover his face.

Jozo took a sip of his coffee. "...Okay, Jerre," he said softly, wondering if he could get the man to blush more. He had a light blush on his cheeks now, and the daemon had no idea why. Talking to people made him embarrassed? "Are you from around here?" he asked curiously.

Jerre shrugged lightly. "Well, I have an apartment not far from here... But my family lives out on the Plains. I'd be there now, except that I'm not one for physical labor. My parents let me come here so I could come to a good school and all that. I'm better at writing and such than farming; I suppose my parents were always understanding of that... I'm sorry! I'm rambling!" he exclaimed. He blushed darkly and ducked his head. He couldn't believe that he could let himself just go off on a tangent like that in front of someone as attractive and nice as Jozo! He stopped himself from thinking anything else along those lines.

The violet haired daemon waved Jerre's statement off. He was amused at how red the shy brunette could get. Was that sadistic?? Naw.... He just liked seeing him be adorable, that was all it was- not liking him being uncomfortable or anything. "I live out on the Plains," he told him. "My parents are not as understanding as yours. I still have to live on the farm even though I do not really do anything. I would much rather be here in the city," he admitted.
Jozo took a sip of his coffee. "I'm only here now to fill an order for new equipment," he said in his soft voice.

Jerre sombered and nodded softly. "That must be boring.... Eh! I mean! Not to make you feel bad or anything!" he exclaimed, cursing his tongue for speaking before he could process what he was thinking. "I didn't mean it in a bad way... It's just... I've lived out there before and if you aren't doing anything... then it's rather boring...."

Jozo chuckled. "Yes, it's very very boring," he agreed. "I suppose if I wanted to, I could do something to help. But they don't need me to, and I hate it. I can not wait until it's time for me to move out, and then maybe I can move here or another city," he said, his grey eyes brightening at the thought.

Jeremiah nodded slightly. "I know the feeling!" he stated with a small laugh. He remembered when he'd found out that he was going to get to come to Kyroshin. He'd been extatic for days.
